Sayres is seeking an seeking a Junior Accounts Payable Administrator responsible for processing vendor invoices and expense reports, cutting accounts payable checks on a weekly basis, supporting the corporate cash model, and filing all financial documents (Vendor Invoices & Expense Reports). This entry-level position reports directly to the Accounting Manager at the Corporate Office in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

The Junior Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for the following:

  • Process vendor invoices and track payments to be made.
  • Record manual checks to support weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Process correcting accounts payable vouchers.
  • Reconcile Open AP report to the General Ledger.
  • Coordinate, resolve/fix and process employee travel expense reports.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers and Financial Analysts regarding vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Validate that all back up documentation is provided with invoices.
  • Support internal and external audits for vendor invoice selections.
  • Support weekly cash meeting and updated corporate cash model for vendor disbursements.
  • Work directly with Accounting Manager with invoice reviews and posting of vouchers.
  • Support fiscal year-end processing and support both External/Internal audits.
  • File all expense reports and vendor invoices on a weekly basis.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements 

Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates

  • Possess a bachelor's degree.
  • Up to two (2) years of related experience.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Possess analytical skills with strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must be a strong team player with all departments within the company and willing to multi-task in a growing corporation.

Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related major.
  • Familiarity with Government Contracting a PLUS.
  • Pivot table experience a PLUS.
