The Linguist/Screener will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct and prepare accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions, of general and technical material, consisting of hand or type written, audio, and/or video language material and documents in hard copy and electronic formats, using correct syntax and expression from the specific foreign language and in English, in a manner that maintains the integrity and meaning of the material.
  • Provide input to media exploitation team members in the production of written reports developed from target material utilizing the specific foreign language.
  • This position may require some travel.

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (3+) in the ILR scale in the target foreign language and a in English writing and speaking.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing translation, interpretation, and/or transcription.
  • Ability to scan and process a large amount of material in a foreign language for critical and essential elements of information.
  • Familiar with IC computer applications and platforms, such as Harmony, TAC, and DHDS.
  • Familiar with Computer Assisted Translation Tools, such as Translation Memory and Terminology Management Databases.
  • Able to travel.
  • U.S. citizen and possess a Secret clearance.


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Military intelligence and/or equivalent.
  • Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
