Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer (SDM Support) will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide technical support to Major Shipbuilding Program within NAVSEA.
  • Understand Shipbuilding Specifications and how to translate into constructive solutions for technical issues identified during the shipbuilding process.
  • Generate presentations and white-papers detailing technical issues and outlining potential options for a solution/way ahead.
  • Conduct reviews of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Waterfront Changes (WFCs), and Statements of Work (AWIs) to ensure technical compliance with shipbuilding specifications and other Navy technical guidelines.
  • Provide technical insight and analysis on Marine Systems to support ship design, construction, and troubleshooting.
  • Support the US Navy with Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical quality assurance checks in a marine industrial environment.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of technical experience supporting Navy Shipbuilding/Ship Design Program.
  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 90 days of contract award.

Highly Desired:

  • At least five (5) years of technical experience supporting Navy Shipbuilding/Ship Design Program.
