Responsibilities

The Russian Language Instructor will:

  • Perform in the role of all levels as a Russian Language Instructor teaching classes and offering one-on-one instruction for students as needed, in Russian language, including oral, reading, writing, and listening skills.
  • Teach Russian language at all levels and design a formal curriculum for instruction at each level (beginner, intermediate, and expert).
  • Work 40 hours a week spending approximately 20 hours of teaching and 20 hours of lesson development, student assessment, and testing.
  • Provide gisting of Russian language, press articles or media broadcasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

 

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience as a Russian instructor at the college level.
  • Ability to teach Russian language at all levels and design a formal curriculum for instruction at each level (beginner, intermediate, and expert).
  • Ability to provide gisting of Russian language press articles or media broadcasts.
  • An expert on Russian culture and other regional interest as well.
  • Excellent command in terms of speaking and comprehension of the Russian language.

  • Good command of English language.
  • U.S. Citizen and eligible to possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • The selected individual may/will be subject to a Government security background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements prior to the start date.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Russian, teaching, or related field.

Highly Desired:

  • Master's degree in Russian, teaching, or related field.
