Responsibilities

The Mid-Level Counterintelligence (CI) Analyst Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide all-source counterintelligence analysis to the full range of investigative activities to include the assessment and analysis of data for evidence or indicators of espionage activity; preparation of reports, time-lines, link analysis, or other innovative methods to convey findings in a meaningful way.
  • Recognize the threats posed to DIA from FIE and insider threat, and understand and apply CI activity to neutralize, degrade, or exploit the threat.
  • Develop and present tailored threat assessments/briefings or threat data for DIA missions, personnel or locations.
  • Assist OPSEC program managers to develop organizational OPSEC plans.
  • Produce risk assessments of CI threats and vulnerabilities and assess the level of CI risk to DIA affiliates.
  • Review multiple threat streams in order to identify CI indicators, find FIE nexus, and recommend appropriate actions utilizing multiple databases, analytical products, and CI regulations and policies to protect the agency from FIE penetration and collection activities.
  • Identify threats to DIA personnel who travel to foreign countries, identify foreign threats or influence to DIA personnel through foreign contacts, and identify foreign threat posed by foreign visitors to DIA facilities.
  • Research and develop CIAR training products, manage Sharepoint sites for CIAR training events, and assist in CIAR training reconciliation for employees.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent credentialing school and be able to produce the certificate.
  • Minimum of five (5) years cumulative experience conducting CI collections, CI functional services, CI investigations, or CI operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of national and defense guidance, community, and practices pertaining to CI.
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
