Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing on-site waterfront program support services to include: 

  • Team management
  • Administrative services
  • Logistical
  • Shipboard training
  • Technical assistance
  • Event planning and support
  • Shipboard Information Technology (IT) services support

In addition, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide the required coordination, advice, and technical assistance to all assigned Prospective Engineering Officers and Engineering Departments with the development of the department instructions, bills, and notices.
  • Establish and monitor the training effort.
  • Prepare and develop required logs.
  • Monitor testing and installation, and Damage Control initialization and preparations for Light Off Assessment (LOA).

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience or related experience in surface ships engineering operations and management to include administration, training, personnel management, engineering, and logistics.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in shipboard unit support in a leadership position to include one or more of the following engineering tasks: administration, training, personnel management, engineering assessments, and/or logistics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership in writing and presentations.
  • Experience in organizing and executing shipboard-related events.
  • Proven leadership ability to lead and manage a service-oriented support staff in all aspects of shipboard engineering operations, personnel administration, training, inspections, and related operations.
  • Maintain a secret security clearance verifiable in JPAS. 

Preferred:

  • Shipyard and shipboard engineering operations experience in a leadership position.
  • College degree.
