Responsibilities

Sayres is seeking experienced Consultants/Action Officers (2 x Positions) to support our client in Quantico, VA.  The Junior Consultants / Action Officers will assist and in some cases lead activities across the full spectrum of consulting, facilitation, leadership alignment, and strategic collaboration to support the Strategic Management Office (SMO) at the Defense Security Service (DSS).  The Junior Consultant / Action Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • Support strategic planning activities.
  • Conduct business process re-engineering.
  • Administer, collect, and assist with analyzing climate surveys.
  • Support the execution of the DSS Senior Leader Annual Meetings (SLAMs).
  • Provide editorial support to all oral and written products delivered to the Strategic Management Office (SMO) and leadership in DSS.
  • Support the execution of the DSS governance structure and processes.
  • Support all meetings and activities with SMO that involve the DSS senior leadership.
  • Support the development of strategic communications' plans and their execution.
  • Assist with knowledge management of all DSS documents and data regarding significant DSS decisions.
  • Assist with achieving leadership alignment of DSS senior leadership and management around DSS goals and a single common vision.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 18 months' experience in DSS or in some element of industrial security.
  • Some work experience in related fields of consulting, facilitation, leadership alignment, or strategic collaboration
  • Knowledgeable of physical, cyber, and personnel security requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Top Secret security clearance.  Clearance must be verified in JPAS.

  Highly Desired:

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Calendar, Email).
