Responsibilities

Sayres is seeking experienced Project Leads / Strategic Planners to support our client in Quantico, VA.  The strategy planner must have at least 15 years' experience as a strategic planner and be knowledgeable of the challenges facing government organizations in creating and executing strategic plans.  The Program Manager/Strategic Planner will be responsible for:

  • Lead and facilitate strategic planning activities with senior and mid-level leaders throughout the Defense Security Service (DSS).
  • Administer and analyze the results of climate surveys to the DSS workforce.
  • Provide project management support to and planning and execution of the DSS Senior Leader Annual Meetings (SLAMs) and Mini-SLAMs.
  • Provide support to the Strategic Management Office (SMO) in the performance of activities involving the DSS senior leaders and management in performance of strategic management activities.
  • Provide executive leadership coaching to senior executive service members and senior leaders at DSS to achieve leadership alignment around DSS' goals and common purpose.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • Masters' degree with at least 15 years' experience as a strategic planner.
  • At least three years' experience in DSS or in some element of industrial security.
  • Knowledgeable of physical, cyber, and personnel security requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Certification as either an executive leadership coach or as a certified and trained facilitator.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gain trust of senior leaders.
  • Current Top Secret security clearance.  Clearance must be verified in JPAS.

 Highly Desired:

  • Program Management experience.
  • PMP Certification.
