The Deputy Program Manager (Washington Navy Yard) will be responsible for the following.

  1. Provide program support services to include:
    1. Team management
    2. Administrative services
    3. Logistical
    4. Shipboard training
    5. Technical assistance
    6. Event planning and support
    7. Task Planning and management
  2. Provide overall managerial control and technical services as directed by the Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer. Representative in support of administrative, personnel, engineering, and logistical tasks as required.
  3. Provide project management, program leadership, and adaptable process improvement.
  4. Address generation of Flag level material, data consolidation, and issues for resolution recommendations.
  5. Analyze and assess the shipyard's facility and manpower resources.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements 

Education, Work Experience, Skills, and Clearance Requirements:  

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience or related experience in surface ships to include administration, training, personnel management, engineering, and logistics.
  3. Minimum five years of experience supporting surface ship acquisition to include one or more of the following tasks: administration, training, personnel management, engineering, and/or logistics.
  4. Experience with Earned Value Management principles and DOD/Navy contract development under FAR/DFAR guidance.
  5. Deck-plate experience in marine operations and supervision of naval ship repair availabilities.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership in writing and presenting.
  8. Underway shipboard experience.
  9. Proven ability to lead and manage a service-oriented support staff in all aspects of program office administration and related operations.
  10. Possess and maintain a Secret security clearance verifiable in JPAS.


  1. Navy Program Office professional support services experience in a leadership position.
  2. College degree.
